Scales and Keys Cheatsheets

From your boy Drody… cus I know we could all use ’em.

One whole day of brushing up on Photoshop and now it is finally finished! I made my own cheatsheet because 90% of the ones I found on Google are trash. Just take my word for it. Mine look way better.

One thing to note is that the Drody Keys Cheatsheets™ do not use any flat notes. Only natural and sharp notes are shown. This is to keep it simple visually. If you were writing music on sheet music, you would have to follow certain standardized rules. For example, take a peep at how you should write in the key signature of Bb major instead of A# major. They have the same exact notes, but the key signature of A# looks hellish.

Looks stupid, right? —>

The x’s are double sharps. Dumb.

As opposed to sticking to the Bb major key signature. Both key signatures contain the same notes and pitches.

Midi Scales Presets

I’m pretty surprised I haven’t found this online yet. So here it is! Now you can play any scale with ease. As long as you can play C Major… (the white keys)

In this pack is a set of presets for the Ableton Live MIDI Effects plugin, “Pitch.” So you can play any minor or major key by just using the white keys. Install and drag or double click the desired Key from the Pitch submenu.

Installation Instructions

Mac: Drag all 12 .adv files to Admin > Music > Ableton > User Library > Presets > Midi Effects > Pitch

Alternatively, you can create and save a new preset for Pitch. Then, right-click the name in the submenu and click on “Show in Finder.” This is where Ableton stores your custom presets. Drag the 12 .adv files into there.

That’s it!
